Apply for £500 creative commissions to get involved in Light Night 2024 and show how your society is ‘inspired by nature’
Light Night is the UK’s largest annual arts and lights festival, taking place in Leeds every October. Up to 150,000 people will visit Leeds city centre to experience spectacular artworks and captivating performances.
This year, the Cultural Institute is coordinating a range of Light Night activities on campus, responding to the theme ‘Inspired by Nature’. We invite LUU student societies to apply for a £500 creative commission to produce a performance, activity or installation on Thursday 24th and Friday 25th October.
We’re looking for creative, engaging and interesting ideas, so in whatever way nature inspires you – the Cultural Institute wants to hear from you!
These commissions are a fun opportunity for your society to showcase your talents to wider audiences. You’ll also develop and demonstrate employability skills such as creative thinking, project management, public engagement, teamwork, communication and budgeting. For full details, see the commission guidance.
If you’re interested in finding out more, why not sign up for a hybrid information session on Monday 22 April for more information? Proposals can be submitted via the online application form by Friday 3 May.
